We are looking for a highly motivated Subsurface Manager with the leadership and collaboration skills required to develop and refine PGS’ subsurface product and service offering for the emerging New Energy markets.
The position will report directly to our EVP New Energy and preferred location is Oslo, alternatively Stavanger or London. As the climate change is a global issue, this is a position with global responsibility with an expected amount of travel.

Main Tasks
- Develop, drive and deliver our New Energy geoscience strategy with main emphasis on CO2 and energy storage, in close collaboration with the Business Development function.
- Expand the related geoscience capacity, internally and through partnerships.
- Engage with industry and academia to understand subsurface challenges and create workflows, products and services to help meet these challenges.
- Initiate and manage internal and external geoscience projects.
- Represent PGS externally as geoscience expert in relevant fora.
Required Capabilities and Qualifications
- Higher university degree in geology/geoscience.
- Comprehensive experience from E&P industry or other relevant industry sector. Experience with CCS or other energy transition topics is a plus.
- Experience in developing, implementing and driving new technology and workflows. Relevant experience and insights into the value of digitalization in the geoscience domain.
- Proven track record in project and line management with ability to motivate and develop high performing teams, facilitating project progress and timely product delivery.
- Good understanding of energy markets and their commercial drivers
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and act on it
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong customer mindset
- Strong communication skills; ability to build sound external relationships and to clearly communicate geoscience concepts to all stakeholders
