PESGB/HGS Africa E&P Conference, 2021

With a huge amount of E&P potential in Africa, the PESGB/HGS Africa E&P Conference 2021 – taking place 14-15 September – offers the chance to gain new insights, promote exploration opportunities and build key connections with those active on the continent.

The 14 – 15 September 2021 will see the return of the PESGB/HGS Africa E&P Conference, this time hosted as a fully virtual event. Celebrating 20 years since its inception, the conference focusses on exploration and development activities across the diverse regions of Africa and has long since established itself as an essential, annual event for those with E&P interests on the continent.

This years’ programme will include fresh insights from key players working in Africa, as well as collaborations from universities and NOC’s. Presentations will cover resilient exploration activity hotspots, infrastructure-led opportunities, and high-reward exploration possibilities across the 2-day event. As the industry redirects its focus to the ‘energy transition’, it feels apt that the conference will open with a keynote session on the subject of CO2 storage potential, presented by Phillip Ringrose of Equinor Research & Technology and Innovation, and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Geothermal resources will also be considered within the ‘future of energy’ topic. Day 1 will close with a panel discussion from industry leaders, hosted from Windhoek, Namibia, by former broadcaster and exploration geologist, Selma Usiku (Eco Atlantic Oil and Gas).

The event will be hosted on a versatile online platform and will include a virtual exhibition for operators, independents, consultancies, service and supply companies to share news of activities and showcase investment prospects.

Although in a different format, this conference and exhibition boasts the same level of quality technical content and networking opportunities as in previous years. In news just announced, to further facilitate discussions and deal-making, an in-person extension of the online conference will be hosted on the 25 November 2021 at the Business Design Centre in London, promoted as the Africa 2021 Live Event!

With a huge amount of E&P potential in Africa, the PESGB/HGS Africa E&P Conference 2021 offers the chance to gain new insights, promote exploration opportunities and build key connections with those active on the continent.
