This year’s Morocco National Energy Showcase presentation by ONHYM will be supported by Geoex MCG, offering an interesting take on its offshore geological potential. The findings originate from an interpretation study for the regional well-tie deep imaging project. Seismic data suggest a different evaluation of the petroleum systems across the passive margin offshore Morocco, allowing for new assessments of the country’s potential for hydrocarbon opportunities. Further studies have also been conducted to support these findings and to develop Morocco’s Seismic Atlas.

ONHYM’s presentation will highlight Morocco’s potential to play a significant role as an energy gateway between Africa and Europe. Morocco is underexplored and the presentation will highlight the potential resources of the country as well as the attractive fiscal terms and regulations. Several gas projects are ongoing in the country and the gas is seen as a transition fuel used to reduce carbon emission from more polluting fuels and pave the way for the transition to renewable energies.
