GEO ExPro are pleased to announce the result of their UK student ‘have your article published in GEO ExPro’ competition. Because of the excellent quality of the final entries, we have decided to make two competitors the joint winners. They are:
James Ball, a PhD student researching distributive fluvial systems in the Central North Sea at Aberdeen University, whose article was on the oil and gas industry’s role in reducing emissions; and Oliver Button, who recently completed an MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience, also at the University of Aberdeen, and who wrote about the prospectivity of onshore UK Palaeozoic provinces.
Jane Whaley, Editor in Chief of GEO ExPro, said: “I was very impressed with the range of topics that entrants to the completion were keen to write about, the enthusiasm they showed for their subjects and their understanding of the style and content that makes a good GEO ExPro article. Thank you to everyone who took part. Huge congratulations to James and Oliver and I really look forward to seeing their articles in print next year.”
GEO ExPro would like to thank the AAPG Student and YP sections for their help with this competition.
