Operator Equinor and license partner DNO Norway did not find hydrocarbons in exploration well 35 / 10-6.
The well was drilled approx. 29 kilometers northwest of the Framfield in the northern part of the North Sea.
The prospectus, known as Gabriel, was estimated to contain 5 – 34 million barrels of oil equivalent, which could be linked to existing infrastructure in the event of a discovery.
The purpose of the well was to detect petroleum in reservoir rocks of the Early and Late Paleocene ages (Intra Balder and Selee formation sandstones).
No sandstones were found in the Balder Formation. In the Selee formation, sandstones with a thickness of about 40 meters were found with good to very good reservoir properties.
The well was drilled in production license 827 S to a vertical depth of 1,907 meters below sea level and terminated in the List Formation. The well is permanently plugged and abandoned.
