Chevron drops last NCS license

Chevron sells its ownership in the Korpfjell-license to DNO Norge, ending its run on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Chevron is transfering its 20% ownership in the Korpfjell-license (PL 859) to to DNO Norge, and ending its reign on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The informations stems from a letter from the Oil and energy department, sent to Chevron on the 28th of September (paywall: Upstream Online).

A Chevron spokesperson confirmed to the news agency Reuters, that they reached an agreement with DNO in July.

Chevron has been scaling down its operations in Northern Europe, and it was only last week that the news broke that Equinor buys Chevrons 40% stake in the Rosebank project (geo365.no: Equinor majority owner).
