Coring assembly

This is our second visit to the Reservoir Group workshop. This time we will talk about coring assembly components.

During our second visit to Reservoir Group’s coring warehouse and workshop in Aberdeenshire, Steve Rait – Coring Manager Europe – explained the key elements of the assembly and how they work together during the coring process. In this part, we focus specifically on core length, core diameter, and liners, and why these parameters are important for recovering high-quality core from the subsurface.

With many geologists working mainly at their desks these days, we thought it would be useful to show what a coring assembly looks like and highlight its most important components.
