Deep-water Delaware

The west-facing exposure, with the Delaware Mountains in the background, shows a submarine-channel fill on the left and associated finer-grained, thinner-bedded channel margin and/or overbank deposits on the right.

The Brushy Canyon Formation represents deep-water deposits bypassed across a carbonate platform in the Delaware Basin, the western subbasin of the greater Permian Basin.
