Biggest discovery this year!

With an upside of 200MMbo, 6507/5-10 (Slagugle) in the Norwegian Sea is the largest oil discovery on the NCS this year.

ConocoPhillips probably deserves the title “Explorer of the Year”!

In November ConocoPhillips announced the largest gas discovery in the 6507/4-1 (Warka) prospect offshore Mid-Norway this year. The well proved between 50 and 189 MMboe. The discovery was made in sandstones of the Lower Cretaceous Lange Formation.

ConocoPhillips har now announced what is probably the largest oil discovery on the NCS this year.

Well 6507/5-10 S (Slagugle) encountered a total oil column of 270 metres in the Early Jurassic Åre Formation and “Grey Beds”, a total of 90 metres of which are sandstone layers with generally very good reservoir properties.

The well proved between 75 and 200 MMbo of recoverable oil.

With these two discoveries, totalling up to 400MMboe, it appears that Conoco Phillips is the most successfull explorer this year.

Pandion is with 20 % the only partner in the licence. Aker BP and PGNiG sold their shares top ConocoPhillips in 2019. Pandion bought their share a few months later.
