Day 2 of #DIGEX2020 will focus on how to implement Data science, together with several case studies from the industry. There are four sessions to learn from this day.
The first session kicks of the “The Digital Perspectives – Mindshift”, the focus is set on how to move the people from more traditional data analysis to Data Science. This important topic will be discussed by Biljana Stangeland, from Mindshift AS, in her talk. Michael Buffet from BCG Energy will, in his speech, focus on challenges in organizational transformation. Finally, Jesper Dramsch from the Technical University of Denmark will give a talk on how to build a career between geoscience and AI.
In the three case study sessions we have chosen two talks from each session:
In the Exploration workflow session, Kristian B. Brandsegg from Exploro AS will present his company’s Paleogene project. Here, they made a unified and consistent Paleogene seismostratigraphic framework for the larger North Sea. Incorporating data from 4000 wells for this is by no means an easy task, but the adaptation of Machine Learning (ML) together with Advanced analytics.
Taber Hersum, Leader Geology in Equinor Energy ASA, in her talk, share experiences from an Analytics project where a multi-disciplinary team worked with identification and maturation of opportunities towards annual licensing rounds on the UKCS and NCS.
In the Reservoir insights session, Jon Sætrom from Resoptima will, in his talk, demonstrate how we can fundamentally change the way subsurface teams do reservoir modeling and management by merging the world of ML and physics, to make better decisions. And he will address the question that arises when being presented to an ensemble of reservoir models, “What should I do with 100 models”?
André Backen from Oliasoft together with FutureOn, will present automated well planning with their Oliasoft WellDesign, developed in their Integrated Cloud Engineering platform. Chevron used this software in 2019 for a fully automated casing design.
For the Subsurface visualization session, Ross Philo from Energistics Consortium, will give a talk on how to automate the often-overwhelming process of verification, cross-checking, clean up, and preparation of a dataset that is to be handled in E&P project activity.
Kim Gunn Maver from Iraya Energies will tell us how a wolfpack inspired an effective G&G exploration strategy. The similarities of a wolfpack and a set of Final well reports can be utilized to maximize the most precious resource for a geoscientist; time.
Remember to register, only a few days left to the conference start.
