Growing demand for seismic

The industry demand for marine 4D seismic surveys is steadily growing. Shearwater GeoServices Holding AS announced in a press release today that their fleet has increased sevenfold in just a year, from 9 to 65 vessels, including yesterday’s news of the vessel transaction with CGG.

Shearwater also announced today new awards from the industry this year; they will conduct three 4D towed streamer projects for Equinor Energy ASA, and one 4D Qseabed Ocean Bottom Survey for Lundin Norway AS. These are all in Norway: The 4D surveys for Equinor will be at the Sleipner West and Norne fields, and at the Sleipner CO2 storage project. The Lundin assignment covers the Edvard Grieg field.
